Women's Shelter Supervisor in Portland, ME

Florence House is a comprehensive program for homeless women. This 24-hour program includes an emergency shelter, safe haven and 25 permanent efficiency apartments based on the Housing First model.The supervisor position will assist with program development and provide leadership in client engagement, individual support, life skills support & education, crisis intervention, and coverage activities during shifts; lead meetings, trainings; and represent Florence House in the community. Provide and oversee intake, assessment, case planning, and linkage, referral, including assistance in acquiring or maintaining permanent housing. The supervisor will support the staff and provide weekly and on-going supervision.Requires an MSW (or a BSW with 3-5 years of relevant experience) experience working with homeless populations, demonstrated leadership ability, a working knowledge of theory and practice of casework, sound crisis intervention skills, an understanding of and positive regard for consumers, understanding of low-barrier service challenges, excellent communication skills both oral and written and the ability to work as a team and to establish boundaries and set limits.This position will have a combination of daytime and evening hours which includes one shift per weekend.The compensation package includes a generous paid vacation, sick and personal time; paid health, dental, life, STD, and LTD.
