Function Technology/IT Position Summary We are seeking an experienced IT infrastructure leader who will be responsible for driving the vision and build out of the Storage and Backup Engineering function at The company's Associates. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership, technical expertise and solid communication skills. Position Requirements • At least 10 years of experience in technology, with at least five years of experience leading complex initiatives • Must be able to effectively lead, develop and manage teams. Can create a clear 'framework of accountability' and hold direct reports to that • Must have excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Can handle complexity without being overwhelmed. • Must be able to work well in an ambiguous and changing environment • Can hire, coach, interview, manage, and evaluate staff (or can do the equivalent through influence -- e.g. program management) • Deep knowledge of application and data classification to help rationalize business value, risk and recovery objectives with cost fit to purpose and overall The company's IT architecture • Deep knowledge of multiple major sector storage vendors and leading products; i.e. EMC, NetApp, Cisco, Netbackup, TSM, Data Domain, Legato, etc. • Extensive experience with data de-duplication and replication tools including SRDF. • Extensive experience assessing performance and efficacy of "as-built" backup infrastructure and policies and identifying an actionable remediation roadmap • Knowledge of relevant regulatory retention regimes highly desirable. • General knowledge at the Enterprise level, rather than boutique point solutions • Good knowledge of storage and backup strategy (build from scratch and transformational) and direction of key vendors • Strong history of partnership with user base Responsibilities • Building the Storage/Backup Engineering function for the IT Infrastructure Department; hiring, training and managing a team • Creating a design and strategic roadmap for storage and backup capability/capacity to meet business goals • Leading engineering initiatives that are aligned with technology strategy and goals • Engineering of efficient and reliable storage management solutions and effective backup, recovery, and archival solutions and procedures. • Providing technical consultation and direction on design, architecture, and evolving technologies • Ensuring alignment and successful transition IT OperationsListing originally posted at http
